Job summary

GSL Education in Plymouth is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Teaching Assistant to support students at a SEND school KS2-4. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm, with ASAP start and requires a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Experience in UK SEN settings is preferred; you will work with teachers, therapists and families to implement tailored support plans, foster positive behavior, and help students develop social and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in UK SEN schools or related settings.
• Driving license and access to a vehicle prioritized.
• Right to work in the UK and up-to-date references.
• DBS check via Update Service or willing to apply through GSL Education.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge or willingness to take safeguarding course.

We are in urgent need of a FULL TIME TEACHING ASSISTANTS to join a SEN school in PLYMOUTH.

This role is full time and it is ESSENTIAL to have a UK driving license and own car. WE DO HAVE OTHER ROLES WHICH DO NOT REQUIRE A DRIVING LICENSE

Due to the nature of these children at the school it is ideal for applicants to have previous experience in UK SEN schools/ alternative provisions/ transferable skills working with behavioural needs.

Responsibilities

• Guide students as a Teaching Assistant, offering personalised guidance and support.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop comprehensive support plans.
• Foster a nurturing environment that promotes improved social interactions and communication skills.
• Assist with daily tasks, academic activities, and implement effective interventions to address behavior challenges and promote positive outcomes.
