Job summary

GSL Education seeks a Behaviour Teaching Assistant for a SEND KS2-4 school in Newton Abbot. This full-time position runs Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm with ASAP start, supporting students with behavioural needs and safeguarding requirements.

The ideal candidate will have prior UK SEN experience or transferable skills, DBS on update service, and a commitment to safeguarding and child protection, plus the ability to work with teachers, therapists and parents to implement support plans.

We are in urgent need of a FULL TIME TEACHING ASSISTANTS to join a SEN school in NEWTON ABBOT

Due to the nature of these children at the school it is ideal for applicants to have previous experience in UK SEN schools/ alternative provisions/ transferable skills working with behavioural needs.

Responsibilities:

• Guide students as a Teaching Assistant, offering personalised guidance and support.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop comprehensive support plans.
• Foster a nurturing environment that promotes improved social interactions and communication skills.
• Assist with daily tasks, academic activities, and implement effective interventions to address behavior challenges and promote positive outcomes.

Requirements:

• Effective communication abilities to ensure clear interactions
• Applicants holding a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle will be prioritised.
• Demonstrated Patience and Empathy along with flexibility and adaptability

• Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
• Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
