Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a resilient Behaviour Teaching Assistant to support secondary aged children and young adults in an SEMH Specialist School in South Liverpool.

This role is a great opportunity for a new or experienced educator to become a familiar face in a school where staffing, culture and community go hand in hand, with a strong emphasis on wellbeing and consistent support.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs, ideally within a PRU or specialist setting.
  • Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience – with a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with staff and families.

Responsibilities

  • Support secondary aged children and young adults with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Use de-escalation strategies to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
  • Assist with activity-based lessons and interventions designed to re-engage learners.
  • Work closely with teachers and the wider PRU team to provide consistent support.

Behaviour Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a resilient and empathetic Behaviour Teaching Assistant to support secondary aged children and young adults in an SEMH Specialist School in South Liverpool.

About the Role
  • Supporting primary‑aged pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Using de‑escalation strategies to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
  • Assisting with activity‑based lessons and interventions designed to re‑engage learners.
  • Working closely with teachers and the wider PRU team to provide consistent support.
  • Helping to create a safe, nurturing environment where every child can succeed.
