Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting for an SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students with social, emotional and mental health needs in a North Liverpool school. The role offers a friendly, inclusive culture and the chance to become a familiar face in a community-minded environment.

The position emphasises safeguarding, wellbeing and consistent support, with flexible days and hours to suit individual schedules. A strong DBS or willingness to obtain one is required.

SEMH Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored one-to-one and group support for students with SEMH needs
  • Help create a safe, calm, and supportive learning environment
  • Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to implement behaviour and support plans

  • Promote engagement, motivation, and confidence in learning
  • Support with de-escalation and behaviour management when required
Requirements
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Calm, patient, and positive attitude
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
