Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Worker for a specialist SEMH school in the Croydon area. The role supports pupils across primary and secondary phases who present challenging behaviour and requires a proactive, patient approach.

You will deliver 1:1 and small-group support, implement behavior plans, and work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral leads to foster engagement and a positive learning environment.

• Experience working with challenging behaviour (SEMH, PRU, youth work, residential, or similar)
• Strong resilience, patience, and a calm approach
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils
• Confident in using behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
• Available to start ASAP

Behaviour Support Worker

110- 120 per day Primary & Secondary SEMH School

Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school. This is a contract position supporting pupils across both primary and secondary phases who present challenging behaviour.

About the Role

• Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour support
• Implement de-escalation strategies and behaviour management plans
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral leads
• Support pupils with SEMH needs to engage positively in learning
• Help create a safe, structured and encouraging environment
