Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking a Behaviour Support Worker for a contract role in a SEMH school in London. You will provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour support, implementing de-escalation strategies and behaviour management plans to help pupils engage positively in learning.

You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral leads to create a safe, structured environment and support SEMH needs. Start date is ASAP, with a competitive daily rate and ongoing professional development

• Experience working with challenging behaviour (SEMH, PRU, youth work, residential, or similar).
• Strong resilience and a calm approach.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.
• Confident in using behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques.

Behaviour Support Worker

110- 120 per day Primary & Secondary SEMH School

Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school. This is a contract position supporting pupils across both primary and secondary phases who present challenging behaviour.

About the Role

• Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour support
• Implement de-escalation strategies and behaviour management plans
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral leads
• Support pupils with SEMH needs to engage positively in learning
• Help create a safe, structured and encouraging environment

• Strong resilience, patience, and a calm approach
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils
