Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Behaviour Support Worker to join schools in Ossett and Wakefield on a full-time basis. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with behavioural and SEMH needs, building relationships to promote engagement and wellbeing.

We welcome applicants from education, youth work, care, sports coaching, mentoring or residential support backgrounds who bring a calm, patient, and resilient approach and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people in education, youth work, mentoring, care, sports coaching, or similar settings.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence supporting pupils with SEMH or additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural, SEMH needs.
• Build positive relationships to promote engagement and wellbeing.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Work with teachers and pastoral teams to implement tailored support plans.
• Promote confidence, resilience and independence in pupils.
• Help pupils access learning inside and outside the classroom.
• Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies.
• Create a safe, inclusive environment where pupils can thrive.
