Job summary

Outcomes First Group operates Options Trent Acres School in rural Staffordshire, seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to join the pastoral team and help nurture pupil wellbeing and inclusion. The role focuses on implementing positive behaviour strategies and reducing exclusions, with close collaboration with leadership.

You will support re-engagement with learning, develop long-term behaviour plans, and contribute to a safe, aspirational learning environment for all pupils.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths required or equivalent.
• Pastoral experience in an educational setting desirable.
• Calm, confident and compassionate with rapport-building ability.

Responsibilities

• Deliver behaviour systems and day-to-day management across the school.
• Assess and respond to poor behaviour using de-escalation strategies.
• Lead authorised restraint training for staff per standards.
• Mentor pupils individually or in small groups.
• Observe pupils and report back to staff and leaders.
• Maintain accurate behaviour records and daily reports.
• Conduct classroom visits to reinforce policies.
• Provide pastoral support and cover school activities.
