Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Behaviour Support Mentor in Carmarthenshire to support pupils with SEMH and ALN. The role runs during term time, from 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a September 2026 start.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups to build confidence and independence. We welcome applicants with experience in sports coaching, youth work, residential childcare, support work, mental health services, emergency services, armed forces or education & behavior support.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural needs or ALN.
• Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS and EWC registration.
• Strong communication and safeguarding commitment.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Build positive relationships and encourage engagement in learning
• Promote emotional regulation, confidence and independence
• Support classroom, outdoor and community-based activities
• Work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to help pupils achieve their goals
