Job summary

Monarch Education in Rochdale is recruiting Behaviour Support Mentors to work across primary schools to support pupils who need extra guidance to engage positively in learning. You will build trust with children, deliver behaviour strategies, and help develop social and emotional skills in a collaborative school setting.

The role offers flexible daily supply, competitive pay, and access to training through Affinity Academy and dedicated consultant support.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Background in behaviour support, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, care or support work.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Ability to manage challenging situations professionally.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Building positive relationships with children who require additional behavioural support.
• Implementing behaviour strategies provided by the school.
• Encouraging engagement in lessons and school activities.
• Supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
• Working closely with teachers, SENDCOs and pastoral teams.
• Promoting a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
