We are currently seeking dedicated and resilient 1:1 Behaviour Support Assistants to work across a range of supportive Secondary and SEN Schools on long-term placements.

1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant main responsibilities will include
- Providing dedicated one-to-one support for pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
- Building positive, trusting relationships that encourage confidence, resilience, and engagement in learning.
- Supporting pupils to regulate their emotions and develop positive behaviour strategies both inside and outside the classroom.
- Working closely with teachers to adapt learning activities and provide personalised support throughout the school day.
- Implementing individual behaviour support plans and contributing to strategies that promote positive outcomes.
- Encouraging pupils to develop social skills, independence, and effective communication.
- Promoting positive behaviour by following school policies and using consistent behaviour management techniques.
- Supporting pupils during transitions, breaktimes, and other less structured parts of the school day where required.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, parents, carers, and external professionals to provide consistent support.
- Recording observations and contributing to behaviour monitoring and pupil progress reviews where appropriate.
1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant requirements or skills
- Previous experience supporting children or young people within a school, youth work, mentoring, care, coaching, or similar setting is desirable but not essential.
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships and establish trust.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach when supporting children who may display challenging behaviour.
- Confidence in promoting positive behaviour and maintaining clear boundaries.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider school team.
- A willingness to learn and engage with professional development opportunities.
