Job summary

Milk Education is seeking dedicated 1:1 Behaviour Support Assistants to work across primary schools on long-term placements. You will provide focused support for pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs, building trust and encouraging engagement in learning.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children or in youth settings is desirable.
• Passion for supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach when supporting pupils.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support for pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
• Build positive relationships to boost confidence and engagement.
• Help pupils regulate emotions and develop coping strategies.
• Adapt learning activities with teachers for personalised support.
• Record observations and contribute to progress reviews.
• Support transitions, breaks, and less structured times.
• Collaborate with SENCOs, parents, and external professionals.
• Promote positive behaviour following school policies.
• Support pupils across the school day.
• Contribute to behaviour monitoring and reporting.
