Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is recruiting a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to work with a Mansfield secondary school on a long-term supply basis from January 2027. The role focuses on supporting pupils with challenging behaviour, delivering 1:1 support where needed, and promoting an inclusive learning environment.

You will build strong relationships with pupils, use effective behaviour management strategies, and maintain consistent boundaries while contributing to the school’s OFSTED-rated Good

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged children or young people.
• Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• A positive and inclusive approach to supporting young people.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Support secondary-aged pupils including providing 1:1 support where required.
• Help pupils displaying challenging behaviour to remain engaged in learning and promote positive behaviour.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant on a long-term supply basis from January, supporting secondary-aged pupils including providing 1:1 support where required. The successful Behaviour Mentor will help pupils displaying challenging behaviour to remain engaged in learning, promote positive behaviour and support the school’s inclusive approach.

The successful Behaviour Support Assistant will have:

• Experience working with secondary-aged children or young people
• Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• A positive and inclusive approach to supporting young people
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
