Job description

Are you passionate about making a difference in a child's education and wellbeing?

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Macclesfield are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join their dedicated team, working 1:1 with a pupil to provide targeted behavioural and academic support.

About the role:

  • Start-date: 2nd June
  • Ongoing/long-term with opportunity for permanent role in September
  • Opportunity to earn £90-£110 per day (dependent on experience)

In this role, you’ll work closely with a primary-aged student, delivering tailored interventions in core subjects such as English and Maths, while promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day. You'll play a key role in supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities, helping to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. You will also be responsible for monitoring behaviour, encouraging participation, and maintaining clear records to support the pupil’s development and progress.

About You:

  • Experience working with children in an educational or behavioural support setting (preferred)
  • Calm, patient, and resilient, with a genuine interest in supporting young learners
  • Able to build positive relationships and encourage pupil engagement
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
