Join Our Team: Behaviour Support Assistants Needed!

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of students with special educational needs? Do you have experience in managing challenging behaviour and supporting students to achieve their full potential? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are currently seeking dedicated Behaviour Support Assistants to work in both SEN and mainstream schools in Fareham, Hampshire. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, Behavioural and Social, Emotional and Mental Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to help students improve their behaviour and self-regulation.
  • Assist teachers and staff in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and other professionals to create and implement individual behaviour plans.
  • Document and track student progress.
  • Attend training sessions and professional development to enhance your skills.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people with SEN and managing challenging behaviour is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of students with SEN
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or willing to apply
