Job description

Are you a resilient, pro-active and enthusiastic individual who believes in putting children first? We are seeking a positive and adaptable Behaviour Support Assistant to join our supportive team in a vibrant mainstream primary school setting.
Due to our current post holder successfully applying to become an Educational Psychologist, we are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team.

About the Role:

You will play a vital role in supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs, helping them to thrive both socially and academically. In this role, you will:

  • Work co-operatively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to implement targeted support.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children to foster confidence and independence.
    Use problem-solving and positive behaviour strategies to support teachers maintain a calm and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with additional needs.

About You:

We're looking for someone who:

  • Ideally has experience working with children, especially those needing behaviour support.
  • Brings a good sense of humour, emotional sensitivity, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Can think creatively and respond flexibly to different situations.
  • Works cooperatively with others and shares a strong commitment to inclusive education.
  • Believes that no child should be left behind, with a passion for helping every learner succeed
