Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Behaviour Support Worker to join a supportive secondary school in the Oldham area from September. The role involves providing one-to-one and small group behaviour support, delivering pastoral assistance and helping students overcome barriers to learning.

We are seeking a confident, resilient candidate with strong communication skills and a passion for supporting young people in a calm, proactive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in behaviour support, pastoral support, youth work, mentoring, teaching assistance or a similar role.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group behaviour support.
• Support students both inside and outside the classroom.
• Implement behaviour and pastoral support plans.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
• Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and senior leaders.
• Assist with interventions designed to improve attendance, behaviour and wellbeing.
