Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant in Telford to support students with SEMH needs and promote positive behavioural development. The role focuses on 1:1 and small-group support, building supportive relationships, and implementing effective behaviour strategies to aid learning.

You will work closely with teachers and staff to create a consistent environment and help students develop resilience and coping skills suitable for academic success.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting young people with SEMH needs.
• Confident, proactive, and able to manage challenging behaviour positively.
• Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable students.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Build strong, trusting relationships to encourage engagement in learning.
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to create a consistent and supportive environment.
