Job summary

Protocol Education Limited is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant in Shrewsbury to support students with SEMH needs. You will work 1:1 and in small groups, building relationships and applying effective behaviour strategies to help students engage and succeed.

The role involves collaborating with teachers, supporting a calm, structured environment, and developing students' emotional resilience.

Qualifications

• Experience as Teaching Assistant or supporting young people with SEMH needs.
• Confident, proactive and able to manage challenging behaviour positively.
• Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable students.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Build strong, trusting relationships to encourage engagement in learning.
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies.
• Work with teachers and support staff to create a consistent supportive environment.
• Help students develop emotional resilience and coping strategies.
