Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD are currently seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive secondary school in Stockport. You will provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring to help pupils overcome barriers and engage with learning.

The role focuses on supporting pupils who may struggle with behaviour, SEMH needs or disengagement from education, applying calm, patient supervision and positive boundary setting. ASAP start.

Qualifications

• Experience in secondary schools or SEMH settings preferred.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring and support.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Help pupils regulate emotions and handle challenging situations.
• Support pupils to understand and change behaviour.
• Promote engagement with learning and improve attendance.
• De-escalate situations calmly and professionally.
• Work with teachers and pastoral staff as part of the school team.

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive secondary school in Stockport.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working with young people who may struggle with behaviour, emotional regulation, engagement or social challenges.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to manage their behaviour and engage positively with school life.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring and support
• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Supporting students to regulate their emotions and manage challenging situations
• Helping pupils understand and make positive changes to their behaviour
• Encouraging engagement with learning and improving attendance
• Supporting pupils who may be at risk of disengaging from education
• Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff and the wider school team
• Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence
• De-escalating challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
• Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining clear boundaries

Experience working in secondary schools, behaviour support, youth work, pastoral care, SEMH settings, residential care or similar environments would be highly beneficial.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour, emotional regulation, SEMH needs or disengagement from education.
