Job summary

Wickersley Partnership Trust is recruiting a Learning Mentor Level 1 (Behaviour) at Oldgate Lane, Thrybergh Primary School. You will support our most vulnerable pupils, help manage behaviour and deliver targeted learning and pastoral support to help pupils succeed in our provision and main schools.

You will lead long-term, skills-based activities, work with the trust leaders, plan individual learning plans, and record progress.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
• Strong listening skills and integrity in sensitive situations.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with adults and children.
• Proven ability to build good relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
• Understanding strategies to manage and support pupils with challenging behaviour.
• Ability to tailor interventions to individual pupils.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support children with SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement to help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
• Work closely with teachers and other members of the support team.
• Understand and implement safeguarding policies.
