Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support pupils across Hastings and the surrounding area. You will help students overcome barriers to learning, applying behaviour management strategies and acting as a positive role model.

You will work closely with teachers, families and external professionals to support emotional regulation and wellbeing, maintaining safeguarding standards throughout.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, youth work or similar setting.
• Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and building positive relationships.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child welfare.
• Calm, patient, empathetic approach to support students with SEBD.
• Ability to model positive behaviours and support emotional regulation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with school staff, families and professionals.
• Passion for helping young people reach their potential.

Teaching Personnel are looking for caring, resilient and enthusiastic Behaviour Mentors to join their team, working in schools across Hastings and the surrounding local areas.

A successful applicant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, youth work or similar setting
• A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and the ability to build positive relationships with students
• Knowledge of safeguarding, always prioritising the safety and wellbeing of children and young people
• A calm, patient and empathetic approach when supporting students with social, emotional and behavioural needs
• The confidence to act as a positive role model and help students develop emotional regulation and coping skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with school staff, families and external professionals
• A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
