Job summary

Reeson Education is seeking a confident Behaviour Mentor to join a focused school environment in Rotherham (S66) from September 2026. You will provide targeted one-to-one and small-group guidance, helping pupils stay focused and manage challenges within established behaviour frameworks.

The role requires strong communication, resilience, and an independent working style, with the ability to collaborate with teachers and external agencies as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a school, SEMH, youth work, or similar structured setting.
  • Strong communication abilities and confidence working with behaviour plans.
  • A steady, consistent approach when handling challenging situations.
  • A proactive, independent working style and reliability.
  • Enhanced DBS on update service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Targeted one-to-one and small-group guidance for pupils.

Are you a driven and dependable Behaviour Mentor ready to take on a role where your judgement, resilience, and clear communication make a direct impact?


Reeson Education are looking for a confident Behaviour Mentor to work in a focused and structured school environment in Rotherham (S66) starting from September 2026. This position of Behaviour Mentor suits someone practical, disciplined, and able to work independently while maintaining strong professional standards.


About the Role:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will provide targeted one-to-one and small-group guidance, helping pupils stay focused, manage challenges, and remain on track with learning. You will follow established behaviour frameworks and contribute to a stable, consistent learning environment.


Key Responsibilities as Behaviour Mentor:


  • Targeted Guidance: Deliver clear, goal-driven support based on individual needs.

  • Learning Assistance: Help pupils stay on task through structured activities and planned interventions.

  • Behaviour Management: Apply strategies that build self-control, resilience, and constructive decision-making.

  • Progress Tracking: Record essential information and share updates with staff.

  • Professional Coordination: Work efficiently with teachers, families, and external agencies when required.


To succeed as a Behaviour Mentor, you will need:


  • Experience in a school, SEMH, youth work, or similar structured setting.

  • Strong communication abilities and confidence working with behaviour plans.

  • A steady, consistent approach when handling challenging situations.

  • A proactive, independent working style and reliability.

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
