Behaviour Support Assistant Role in Leicester

GSL Education is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant for a vibrant school in Leicester, starting from Easter, with potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties, particularly those with SEMH and challenging behaviours. The role involves building strong rapport with pupils, de-escalating volatile situations, and supporting pupils both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils to improve behaviour and wellbeing
• Assist pupils with learning difficulties
• Establish positive relationships quickly
• Support pupils inside and outside the classroom
• Help increase pupils' confidence and self-esteem through listening and strategic support

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a Behaviour Mentor or similar role
• Resilient, calm, and capable of de-escalation
• Ability to build meaningful relationships with pupils
