Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a compassionate Behaviour Mentor to support students with behavioural, emotional and social needs at a Croydon school. This role focuses on developing and implementing behaviour support plans to help pupils engage positively in learning.

You will collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, parents and external agencies to monitor progress, report incidents and promote resilience and positive choices. The role is full-time, with a long-term or permanent contract on offer.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people, preferably in SEN or behavioural support.
• Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and SEN frameworks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and resilience to work with complex needs.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and group mentoring tailored to students' individual needs.
• Develop and implement behaviour intervention strategies to support positive outcomes.
• Monitor, record, and report on student progress and behaviour incidents.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external agencies to coordinate support.
• Promote positive relationships and build trust with students, encouraging social and emotional growth.
• Support transitions, including reintegration following exclusions or challenging periods.

The Role:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement behaviour support plans, foster resilience, and encourage positive choices.
