Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking an experienced HLTA Behaviour & Intervention Specialist to join the Inclusion and Pastoral team at a secondary academy in Blackpool.

You will lead targeted academic and behavioural interventions for KS3/KS4 students facing barriers to learning and SEMH needs. Working with SENDCo, Pastoral Leads, and Heads of Year, you’ll design reintegration plans to de-escalate crises and re-engage students in mainstream classes, contributing to a calm, structured learning

Qualifications

• HLTA status (Level 4) or relevant degree/Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning with secondary experience.
• Proven track record with secondary-age students (11–16) displaying challenging behaviour or SEMH needs.
• Desirable Team-Teach, MAPA or equivalent de-escalation certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and evaluate 1:1 and small-group interventions across KS3/KS4 (literacy, numeracy, emotional regulation).
• Manage the Inclusion Hub and provide a calm, restorative environment.
• Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques in crisis situations.
