Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a Blackpool secondary school. You will provide 1:1 and small group intervention for KS3 and KS4 students with ASC, SEMH needs and ADHD, supporting learning and wellbeing throughout the full academic year.

The role requires GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above, plus a Level 2/3 TA qualification; an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service and recent references are essential. Team-Teach/MAPA training is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEND in schools or related settings.
• GCSE English/Maths C/4 or Level 2 equivalent; TA qualification desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain.
• Strong communication and empathy with young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted 1:1 support for EHCP students.
• Support KS3/KS4 in mainstream and nurture hubs.
• Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation.
• Differentiate resources to match learning styles.
• Track pupil milestones and provide feedback to teachers/parents.
