Job summary
A leading automation engineering firm in the United Kingdom is seeking a Controls Engineer to design and implement bespoke control systems for special-purpose machinery. You will work with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless integration and support throughout build, test, and commissioning phases. Qualifications
- Proven experience working with Beckhoff control systems (hardware and software).
- Background in control system design for special‑purpose machinery.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation, safety systems, and I/O architectures.
Responsibilities
- Design and implementation of PLC control systems for bespoke machinery.
- Programming and integration of machine I/O, sensors, actuators, and motion control systems.
- Work closely with software, mechanical, and electrical teams for seamless system integration.
Skills
Proven experience with Beckhoff control systems (hardware and software)
Background in control system design for special‑purpose machinery
Strong understanding of industrial automation, safety systems, and I/O architectures
Experience with machine‑level programming and commissioning
Logical and methodical approach to fault‑finding and testing
Experience with motion control and vision systems
