Job Summary

The purpose of ABL's Be U Autism Assessment Service is to provide assessments for children, young people and adults on the autism assessment pathway via the NHS.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure high‑quality support is consistently delivered to children, young people/adults and their families, working collaboratively with professionals to enable access to the service.
  • Drive continuous service improvement, maintain best practice standards and deliver added‑value initiatives.
  • Supervise and manage the Be U team through regular 1:1s and annual reviews, providing coaching, overseeing recruitment, and managing day‑to‑day operations such as allocating assessments and leading meetings.
  • Support the design and implementation of post‑intervention support and monitor referral processes.
  • Present fair, balanced feedback and challenge poor practice where required.
  • Ensure partnership working with young people, families, carers, schools and other stakeholders, actively including them in reviews.
  • Disseminate learning from the service to other stakeholders through case studies and feedback.
  • Implement ABL policies and procedures, including quality assurance, safeguarding, data protection, HR and health & safety.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date records for service users and employees, and deliver required reports to authorities.
  • Identify risks and act proactively to avoid service breakdowns, respond to complaints and mitigate all types of risk.
  • Prepare and support data‑led monthly performance monitoring for the Divisional Lead and ABL Executive Directors.
  • Work flexibly and adapt to suit service needs and operate within the allocated budget.
  • Support routine quality auditing processes and foster positive relationships with stakeholders and system partners.
  • All other reasonable duties as required by the position.
