Job summary

Integrals Power Limited is seeking a Battery Chemical Scientist to develop and scale phosphate-based battery materials at its Milton Keynes facility. The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team to advance cathode materials and precursor technologies for commercialisation.

You will lead synthesis, characterization, and process optimisation from laboratory to pilot scale, while supporting customer projects and collaborative R&D programmes.

Qualifications

  • MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry or Battery Technology.
  • Experience synthesising inorganic materials and hands-on laboratory work.
  • Strong understanding of powder processing and material synthesis.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimise phosphate-based materials (LFP, LMFP, Iron Phosphate) and synthesis processes.
  • Prepare cathode active materials from laboratory to pilot scale.
  • Conduct process optimisation to improve material performance, yield, scalability and cost.
  • Support pilot production campaigns and technology scale-up.
  • Characterise battery materials using standard analytical techniques.
  • Analyse experimental data and prepare technical reports.
  • Support electrochemical testing activities in collaboration with external partners.
  • Contribute to UK and European collaborative R&D projects.
