Job summary

Integrals Power Limited is seeking a Chemical Scientist to join our Milton Keynes pilot manufacturing facility, developing phosphate-based battery materials and supporting scale-up and commercialization initiatives.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, perform synthesis, materials characterization, and process optimisation across lab to pilot scale, contributing to UK/EU programmes and collaborative R&D.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or Electrochemistry.
• Hands-on laboratory experience synthesising inorganic materials.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise phosphate based materials (LFP/LMFP/Iron Phosphate precursors) and synthesis processes.
• Prepare cathode active materials from laboratory to pilot scale.
• Conduct process optimisation to improve material performance, yield, scalability and cost.
• Support pilot production campaigns and technology scale-up.
• Characterise battery materials using standard analytical techniques.
• Analyse experimental data and prepare technical reports.
• Support electrochemical testing activities in collaboration with external partners.
• Contribute to UK and European collaborative R&D projects.
• Assist with process documentation, SOPs and quality procedures.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure good laboratory practice.
• Support continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
