Cummins Inc. in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom, is seeking an Electrochemistry Scientist to join our Engineering team. Hybrid (min 3 days on site), 37.5h per week, focusing on battery electrochemistry, testing planning, and data analysis.

You will lead projects, develop detailed test plans for Li-ion cell technologies, coordinate test activities, interpret results, and present findings to stakeholders while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• PhD/MSc/BSc in chemistry, engineering, or physical sciences required.
• Experience as Senior or Lead Engineer in a relevant discipline is required with a track record of technical problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Leads electrochemistry projects with accountability for scope, resources, timing, testing activities and delivery.
• Develops test plans, procedures, and methodologies for electrochemical characterization of Li-ion cells for customer and research projects.
• Oversees battery test setup, execution, and monitoring with engineers, technicians, and other resources to ensure high-quality results.
• Applies knowledge of battery electrochemistry and materials science to analyze performance and support product applications.
• Analyzes experimental data, conducts root-cause analysis, and produces technical reports and recommendations.
• Presents findings to internal/external customers and supports engineering and decision meetings.
