Job summary

Sodexo at Royal Stoke Hospital is seeking a Barista to deliver warm hospitality, craft excellent coffee, and serve a diverse menu to patients, staff and visitors.

You'll work around 30 hours per week across shifts from 06:00 to 20:00, with uniform provided and access to benefits designed to support wellbeing and work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food preparation and service within a fast-paced environment.
• Barista experience desirable with Level 2 Food Safety preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to engage customers and work with teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and handle retail/food produce for daily service, ensuring correct storage, stock rotation, allergen safety, and compliance with Sodexo standards
• Deliver excellent customer service, operate and balance the till accurately, and upsell products to drive sales growth
• Maintain high standards of food safety, personal hygiene, uniform presentation, and a safe working environment
• Manage stock levels, promotional activity awareness, and minimise waste or spoilage across all retail areas
• Participate in required training, appraisals, and competency checks, and support management with additional duties as needed

What you bring:

• Barista/Costa coffee experience desirable, with Level 2 Food Safety preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage customers and work with teams at all levels
• Well-organised, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively while working under pressure
• Positive, flexible team player with a willingness to learn and develop in the role
