Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Costa Barista at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury. You will craft coffee and serve from a varied menu, helping create a welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors during shifts on a 5 days out of 7 pattern.

You should have barista experience and a passion for great service, with a friendly, professional approach in a busy hospital setting. Parking on site and uniform are provided.

Located at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury, you'll help create a welcoming environment that eases the stress of hospital visits by offering warm hospitality and friendly, professional conversations with patients, staff, and visitors alike.

What you'll do:

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, hot drinks, food and snacks, delivering the welcoming Costa experience to patients, visitors and staff.

• Create a friendly, inclusive and customer-focused environment, providing excellent service with a smile.

• Maintain Costa brand standards, ensuring the outlet is clean, organised, fully stocked and ready for service.

• Prepare and present food accurately, following portion control, stock rotation (FIFO) and food safety procedures.

• Follow food hygiene, allergen management and food labelling requirements, completing all necessary safety checks and records.

• Work closely with colleagues to keep service running smoothly, support other catering areas when needed and ensure effective shift handovers.

• Operate and clean equipment safely, maintain high standards of personal hygiene and report any hazards or equipment issues promptly.

• Support sales by confidently recommending suitable products and helping customers make informed choices.

What you bring:

• Barista experience and a genuine passion for preparing quality coffee and delivering great customer service.
• A friendly, approachable manner and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of customers and colleagues.
• A positive, team-focused attitude, with the flexibility to support colleagues and work across different catering areas when required.
• Good organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
• An understanding of food hygiene, health and safety, and the importance of managing food allergens safely.
• A keen eye for detail and pride in maintaining cleanliness, presentation and high service standards.
• A proactive approach to learning, following procedures and taking responsibility for your work.
