Job summary

Hastings Hotels is seeking a reliable Bar Tender to join the Ballygally Castle Beverage Team in Northern Ireland. You will present the bar, serve beverages and snacks, and maintain cleanliness to ensure guests enjoy the Hastings experience.

We welcome similar experience, but our Food and Beverage Managers will provide full training. The role offers flexible hours, casual contract, and benefits including staff meals, employee discounts, tips, and opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

• Required Criteria: Good Command of English Language
• Right to Work in the United Kingdom
• Must have previous bar experience gained in a quality hotel/bar.
• Must be educated to GCSE level of the equivalent with grades A-C in English and Maths.
• Must have excellent communication and basic numeracy skills.
• Must have a professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• To present the bar and provide service of beverages and snacks
• To maintain the cleanliness of the service areas according to Hastings Standards
• To serve food and beverages to guests ensuring the highest standard of service
• To handle cash, charges, floats and till procedures accurately
• To use bar equipment and pumps efficiently and minimise wastage
• To maintain stock security and report breaches
• To be knowledgeable about Hastings hotels offerings and promote them to guests
• To address guest concerns politely and report to supervisor/manager on duty
• To work with colleagues to ensure a harmonious, respectful environment
• To comply with health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures
• Any other duties as required by management

The rate of pay for this causal position ranges from £10.95ph-£12.75ph depending on age.

About the role

To be responsible for the presentation of the bar and the service of beverages and snacks for greatest enjoyment of our guests. To maintain the cleanliness of the service areas according to Hastings Standards.

• To serve food and beverages to guests ensuring the highest standard of service and that all guest needs and expectations are met. Typical tasks include, bar stocks, preparing and serving beverages, taking orders and payments.

• Greeting guests and responding to their queries

• To ensure all cash, charges, floats and till procedures are carried out correctly

• To use equipment and bar pumps efficiently, to maintain proper measures and ensure minimum wastage

• To always maintain the security of stock areas, immediately reporting any breaches.

• To be knowledgeable about the hotel offerings and be proactive in the sale of these to guests.

• To ensure that guest concerns are dealt with politely and efficiently, reporting them to the Supervisor/Manager on duty.

• To work effectively with colleagues to ensure a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.

• To comply with all health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures.

• Any other duties as required by management.

About You

We would love you to have some similar previous experience, but this is not essential as our Food and Beverage Managers will provide you with full training.
