Job summary

Dakota Hotels is seeking an Assistant Bar Manager to lead and inspire a high-end beverage team in Glasgow. You will develop service standards, train staff, and manage daily bar operations.

The role requires strong knowledge of cocktails, wines and spirits, plus experience in rotas, training and people management within a premium hospitality environment. A positive, proactive leader is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year as Assistant Manager or above in a full-service bar/restaurant with rotas, training & people management.
• At least 3 years in a full-service, high-end restaurant/bar.
• Experience in overseeing bar operations, team and guest service.
• Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, wines and spirits.
• Enthusiastic, positive culture ambassador.
• Detail-oriented with pride in work quality.
• Flexible with shift patterns.
• Demonstrated brand research and genuine interest in joining the team.

Responsibilities

• Implement training plans and on-the-job training to ensure polished service.
• Deliver beverage-focused training to grow product knowledge.
• Assist with stock takes and beverage orders to support operations.
• Lead by example with hands-on service and hosting.
• Offer guests recommendations, including allergen awareness.
• Monitor performance and provide guidance to maintain high standards.
• Mentor team members with coaching for growth.
• Identify opportunities to improve team performance and morale.
