Job summary

Dakota Hotels is seeking a Bar Manager in Manchester to lead our bar team and elevate service standards. The role focuses on training, hands-on service, and delivering exceptional guest experiences across our bar and related dining areas.

The ideal candidate has strong cocktail and wine knowledge, proven experience in high-end hospitality, and a keen commercial sense to drive revenue while maintaining premium service levels.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience in a full-service, high-end restaurant and/or bar.
• At least 1 year’s experience training others in Bar or Restaurant environment.
• Overseeing bar operations, team and customer service.
• Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, wines and spirits.
• Strong commercial awareness with ability to drive revenue.
• Experience running services and cash handling.
• Strong knowledge of wines and wine pairings with dishes.

Responsibilities

• Drive service levels in the bar and lead bartenders, bar floor team and hosts.
• Run day services with hands-on service and hosting, driving standards.
• Implement training plans and on-the-job training to raise service levels.
• Provide cocktail and drinks training and expand guest experience knowledge.
• Support commercial running of bar operations including rota hours and orders.
• Offer comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage menu options and allergens.
