Job description

Our heart, head and hands play a part in everything we do. By caring about the art of hospitality and perfecting every detail, we work together to uplift the lives of others. There is nothing quite like the satisfaction of providing an unrivalled service that is greatly admired.

Kerridge’s is the first London restaurant by Tom Kerridge and the Hand & Flowers team.

From Marlow we’ve brought much of our produce and inspiration to create wonderful dishes, and a relaxed and unstuffy eye for hospitality. All these have found a home in the extraordinary surroundings of Corinthia London.

If you are passionate about delivering an exquisite service within a 5-star environment, then we would like to hear from you.

About The Role

The Bar & Lounge Manager at Kerridge’s is responsible for the overall management and operation of the bar and lounge, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, outstanding beverage quality and consistently high standards of service in line with the reputation of Kerridge’s. The role involves leading, motivating and developing the bar team, overseeing daily operations, managing financial performance, controlling costs and driving revenue through innovative beverage offerings and guest engagement. The Bar & Lounge Manager will work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage, restaurant management, kitchen and other hotel departments to ensure seamless service and operational efficiency. As a key member of the Food & Beverage team, the Bar & Lounge Manager will champion luxury hospitality, uphold Corinthia Standards, LQA and Forbes service expectations, and foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.

About You
  • Proven experience in bar management or a similar leadership role within a luxury hotel, premium restaurant, high-end bar or comparable hospitality environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing daily bar operations and leading a team to deliver consistently high standards of service.
  • Strong knowledge of cocktail preparation, wine service, spirits, premium beverages and contemporary beverage trends.
  • Experience in developing beverage menus, creating signature cocktails and implementing promotions to enhance guest engagement and drive sales.
  • Proven experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, beverage costing, gross profit management and cost control.
  • Experience in inventory management, purchasing, supplier negotiations, stocktakes and wastage reduction.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, coach, motivate and retain colleagues while maintaining a positive and productive working environment.
  • Experience in managing guest expectations, resolving complaints and delivering personalised service to VIPs and high-profile guests.
  • Strong understanding of luxury hospitality standards, guest recognition and the importance of attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, food safety requirements, alcohol licensing laws and responsible alcohol service practices.
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale systems, bar management software, inventory systems and Microsoft Office or equivalent reporting tools.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to interpret financial reports, identify business opportunities and implement measures to improve profitability.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • A strong desire to continue learning and developing within the luxury hospitality industry.
  • Good level of written and spoken English.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • Takes pride in professional grooming, personal presentation and setting the right example for the team.
  • Ability to remain composed, decisive and resilient under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates integrity, accountability, discretion and professionalism when interacting with guests, colleagues and senior management.
  • Formal qualifications in Hospitality Management, Bar Management, Food & Beverage Management or a related field are desirable.
  • Certification in responsible alcohol service and food safety, as applicable to the role and jurisdiction.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of beverage financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, costing and stock control.
  • Strong understanding of wines, cocktails, spirits and premium beverage products, with the ability to support menu development and beverage strategy.
  • Leadership or management training, including team development, performance management and coaching, is desirable.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining current knowledge of luxury hospitality standards and industry best practices.
