The Grand Hotel Birmingham, part of De Vere, is seeking a friendly Bar Host to welcome guests and set the tone for exceptional hospitality. You will manage reservations, assist with guest requests, and help create a seamless guest journey across service periods.

Typical shifts run 15:00-23:00 or 16:00-00:00, 24 hours per week with potential for extra hours. A competitive package includes service charge and staff incentives.

From the first enquiry to the final farewell, you'll play an essential role in creating a seamless guest journey, managing table reservations, welcoming guests and ensuring everyone feels genuinely looked after. This is a part-time role offering a 24-hour-per-week contract, with the potential for additional hours depending on business needs. Typical shifts include 15:00-23:00 and 16:00-00:00, across weekdays, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. What the role involves

• Creating a warm and memorable first impression, welcoming every guest with genuine hospitality and a professional, friendly approach.
• Managing reservations from initial enquiry through to arrival, seating and potential rebooking, whether by telephone or in person.
• Confirming bookings, dietary requirements and special requests in advance, ensuring every detail is communicated and guests receive a personalised experience.
• Coordinating reservations, walk-ins and table availability to maximise covers while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere and exceptional guest experience.
• Working closely with the Food & Beverage team, assisting with guest requests and service where needed to ensure the smooth running of Madeleine. A warm, genuine personality and a natural ability to make people feel welcome, comfortable and valued.
• A passion for delivering exceptional hospitality, with a genuine interest in creating memorable guest experiences.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with guests and colleagues in a friendly, professional manner.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a positive, proactive approach, with the ability to remain calm and composed during busy periods.
