Job summary

Old Farmhouse is seeking a Bar and Waiting Apprentice to greet guests, serve drinks and meals, and ensure a warm, welcoming atmosphere in a busy pub setting. The role includes hands-on work-based training with a mentor on site.

The apprenticeship covers Level 2 Food & Beverage Team Member, with weekly shifts including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Training includes Functional Skills in English and Maths and regular reviews over 12 weeks.

Qualifications

• You won't need to attend college; apprenticeships are delivered through work-based training.
• Obtain Functional Skills in English and Maths, with support tailored to your needs (if you don't already have GCSE or equivalents).
• Reviews every 12 weeks with the Apprentice, Line Manager and Lifetime Learner Coach including feedback sessions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with a heartfelt and memorable experience each and every time they visit.
• Be the insider behind the bar, offering recommendations to customers.
• Prepare and present drinks that meet specifications and customer expectations.
• Assist in greeting, serving food and looking after our customers whilst they dine with us.
• Make sure the bar is always safe, legal, and clean, and any issues are dealt with as quickly and safely as possible.

As a Bar and Waiting Apprentice with Hungry Horse, you'll be the face of our company, making sure that every guest leaves with a smile on their face and a full belly. What your apprenticeship includes:

• You won't need to attend college; our apprenticeships are delivered through work-based training which includes a mixture of face-to-face sessions and remote Team calls with your Lifetime Learner Coach every 6 weeks. You will also have a mentor within the workplace to support you.
• Obtain Functional Skills in English and Maths, with support tailored to your needs (if you don't already have GCSE or equivalents).
• Reviews every 12 weeks with the Apprentice, Line Manager and Lifetime Learner Coach including feedback sessions.
