Placements24 is seeking an experienced Banquet Chef for high-profile events in Randburg, Gauteng. You will lead a fast-paced kitchen during banquet service, develop menus with the Head Chef, and ensure top-quality food and presentation for large-scale events.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in banquet/catering, strong leadership, and expertise in HACCP, costing, and inventory management. Relocation to Randburg could be required for this role.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 5 years of experience as Banquet Chef or similar in a high-volume setting.
• Experience managing kitchen operations for large events (200+ guests).
• Proficient in food costing, inventory management, and HACCP principles.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills; able to work under pressure.

Aufgaben

• Lead and manage the kitchen team during banquet service, ensuring efficient preparation and plating of all dishes.
• Develop and execute high-quality banquet menus in collaboration with the Head Chef and catering management.
• Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation across all banquet events.
• Manage food inventory, ordering, and receiving to control costs and maintain freshness.
• Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
• Oversee the setup and breakdown of banquet kitchens and service areas.
• Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Collaborate with event coordinators to understand client requirements and dietary needs.
• Monitor food production to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during banquet preparation and service.
