Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Event Chef for a contract role in Randburg, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will lead menu design, kitchen operations, and event execution, ensuring exceptional food quality and presentation for a range of functions from intimate gatherings to large corporate events.

You will manage inventory, costs, and supplier relationships while mentoring kitchen staff and upholding food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years progressive culinary experience with at least 3 years in a senior chef role within event catering.
• Proven ability to design and execute complex menus for diverse events.
• Experience in kitchen management including supervision, inventory control, and cost management.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
• Leadership and team management skills; capable of mentoring staff.
• Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as required by events.
• Culinary qualifications from a recognized institution are highly desirable.
• Experience in Randburg, Gauteng area is a plus.

Responsibilities
