Job summary

Optegra Eye Healthcare is seeking an experienced Ward Nurse to join our bank team at Manchester Eye Hospital. The role pays up to £30 per hour, dependent on experience, with flexibility to cover shifts in Sheffield and Preston.

You will participate in all aspects of the Ophthalmic Surgical pathway, providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as part of the operating theatre team. Peri-operative and post-operative care are included within the hospital’s surgical and refractive suite.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration or ODP
• Experience in Ophthalmology Theatre
• Peri-operative and post-operative care experience
• Private/operating settings experience advantageous

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled clinical and technical assistance in the operating theatre team
• Participate in all aspects of the Ophthalmic Surgical pathway
• Deliver peri-operative and post-operative care within the surgical and refractive suite

The Role

You will be responsible for participating in all aspects of the Ophthalmic Surgical pathway at Optegra. It goes without saying that you’ll be passionate about providing excellent care to all patients. You will have specific responsibility for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team. This will also include peri-operative and post-operative care in the surgical and refractive suite of the hospital.

What You’ll Need

• Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
• Current NMC/ODP registration with no restrictions
• Qualification in Ophthalmology or peri-operative care
• Previous experience in an Ophthalmology Theatre, minimum of one year
• Knowledge in private and operation settings.
