Job summary

Optegra Eye Healthcare in Guildford is seeking an experienced ward nurse to join our ophthalmic theatre team. You will provide skilled clinical and technical assistance across the ophthalmic surgical pathway, including peri-operative and post-operative care in the surgical and refractive suites.

Requirements include RN or ODP registration with no restrictions, ophthalmology or peri-operative care qualification, and a minimum of one year in ophthalmology theatre.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with current NMC/ODP registration.
• Ophthalmology or peri-operative care qualification is required.
• Minimum of one year of ophthalmology theatre experience.
• Experience in private and operating settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team.
• Participate in all aspects of the Ophthalmic Surgical pathway, including peri-operative and post-operative care.
• Support delivery of high-quality patient care within a private ophthalmology hospital setting.

The Role

You will be responsible for participating in all aspects of the Ophthalmic Surgical pathway at Optegra. It goes without saying that you’ll be passionate about provide excellent care to all patients. You will have specific responsibility for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team. This will also include peri-operative and post-operative care in the surgical and refractive suite of the hospital.

What You’ll Need

• Be a Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
• Have a current NMC/ODP registration with no restrictions
• A qualification in Ophthalmology or Peri operative care
• Previous experience in an Ophthalmology Theatre, minimum of one year
• Have knowledge in private and operation settings.
