Job summary

Optegra Eye Health Care in Birmingham is recruiting a Bank Ward Nurse to join our private eye hospital team on a zero-hour contract with flexible shifts.

You will support ophthalmic surgical pathways, delivering peri-operative and post-operative care as a member of the operating theatre team, ensuring high standards of patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Be a Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
• Have a current NMC/ODP registration with no restrictions.
• Have a qualification in Ophthalmology or peri-operative care.
• Have previous ophthalmology theatre experience, minimum of one year.
• Knowledge of private hospital and operating settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in peri-operative and post-operative care within the surgical and refractive suite.
• Provide skilled clinical and technical assistance as part of the theatre team.
• Support the ophthalmic pathway with compassionate patient care.

The Role

You will be responsible for participating in all aspects of the ophthalmic surgical pathway at Optegra. You’ll provide excellent care to all patients and have specific responsibility for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team. This includes peri‑operative and post‑operative care in the surgical and refractive suite of the hospital.

What You’ll Need
