Job summary

Optegra Eye Health Care in Bradford is seeking an experienced ward nurse to join our dedicated team at Bradford Hospital. You will provide skilled clinical and technical support in the operating theatre and assist with peri‑operative and post‑operative care within the ophthalmic surgical pathway.

Requirements include RN or ODP, current NMC/ODP registration, ophthalmology or peri-operative qualification, and at least one year in ophthalmology theatre.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP).
• Current NMC/ODP registration without restrictions.
• Qualification in Ophthalmology or peri-operative care.
• Minimum one year of Ophthalmology theatre experience.
• Knowledge of private and operating settings.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of the Ophthalmic Surgical pathway.
• Provide skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team.
• Deliver peri-operative and post-operative care in the surgical and refractive suite.

The Role

You will be responsible for participating in all aspects of the Ophthalmic Surgical pathway at Optegra. You’ll be passionate about providing excellent care to all patients. You will have specific responsibility for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team. This will also include peri‑operative and post‑operative care in the surgical and refractive suite of the hospital.

What You’ll Need

• Be a Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
• Have a current NMC/ODP registration with no restrictions
• Have a qualification in Ophthalmology or peri‑operative care
• Previous experience in an Ophthalmology Theatre, minimum of one year
• Have knowledge in private and operation settings
