Job summary

Share Community in London is seeking experienced tutors to join our bank staff pool across four sites. You will cover sessions in Art, Textiles, Digital Skills, Maths, English and Independent Living Skills, delivering prepared lessons and supporting learners to progress.

This bank role offers flexible, as-needed hours with no guaranteed work. You must have teaching or training experience and be comfortable adapting your approach to different subjects and student needs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering teaching or training.
• Able to adapt teaching across diverse subjects and learners.
• Familiar with following prepared lesson plans and supporting learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support and train adults with learning disabilities and autism during sessions across courses.

We are looking for experienced tutors who could join our bank staff. We provide training courses for adults with learning disabilities and autism across a range of creative, practical and academic subjects. Our courses include areas such as Art, Textiles, Digital Skills, Maths and English and Independent Living Skills.

This Role Will Work Across Our Four Sites

As a bank worker with us, you would be responsible for stepping in to provide cover during staff absence across our different courses. Students take part in sessions for educational or wellbeing progression and your main responsibilities would be to support and train our students using prepared lesson plans, helping them to develop the skills needed for their learning and appropriate external qualifications where relevant.

Work is offered on an as-needed basis once you are added to our bank staff. There is no guarantee of work; however, we are looking for people who are happy to be contacted at short notice to provide relief or can be booked for block weeks in advance.

What we are looking for

We are ideally looking for people who have experience of delivering teaching or training and who feel confident working across a range of subjects. You must have a flexible approach and a can‑do attitude.

As this role provides cover across multiple projects, you will need to be comfortable following lesson plans and adapting your teaching style to suit different subjects and student needs.

Main responsibilities

• To support learning, encourage and supervise adults with learning disabilities and autism in a range of classroom, creative and practical activities which will assist the development of skills, experience, confidence and independence, and ultimately lead them to gaining qualifications where appropriate
• To deliver sessions using prepared lesson plans, supporting students to understand and engage with the learning activities
• To support learning in an inclusive way, encouraging students to work at their best and to stay motivated and engaged with the task at hand

This job is subject to two satisfactory references, evidence of qualifications, an enhanced DBS check and providing evidence of the right to work in the UK.
