Job summary

Bridge College, part of Together Trust, seeks Bank Learning Support Assistants to aid students aged 16–25 with disabilities and complex needs. Role includes 1-1 and small group support, personal care, and mobility assistance under supervision. 0-hour contract with shifts in Manchester. Starting pay £13.45 per hour.

Join a multidisciplinary team and support students across extended curriculum, placements, and residential courses. CPD opportunities and wellbeing support are highlighted in the role.

• Experience of working with young adults with additional needs who may display challenging behaviour.
• Comfort with personal care and assisting with mobility and therapy activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and guidance to students by removing barriers to learning and facilitating transitions.
• Assist with planning, recording and evidencing progression.
• Support timetable activities including swimming, hydrotherapy, and other therapy/ leisure facilities.
• Maintain records using college information systems and contribute to planning/review processes.
• Liaise with families and carers while maintaining confidentiality.

The role of a Bank Learning Support Assistant is to provide support for students in their learning which includes their extended curriculum, external placements and visits, 1-1 and small group sessions – under direction of a session leader. You will also support students with the full range of communication systems, eating and drinking, personal care, mobility, medication and therapy subject to supervision and training.

Bridge College is the Together Trust’s specialist education college for students aged 16 to 25 years with disabilities, complex needs and autism. Bridge College promotes a multidisciplinary approach to learning and has expertise in supporting students with a wide range of needs.

Hours - 0 hour contract Monday 08:30-4:00pm Tuesday – Friday 08:30am – 3:45pm.

Starting salary - £13.45 per hour

Key tasks within this role are:

• To provide support and guidance to the young people by removing barriers to their learning as well as supporting and facilitating changes and transitions along the journey of excellence.
• Contributing to all relevant aspects of planning, recording and evidencing progression
• Be an active participant in supporting the timetable in all it’s different contexts - assisting and supporting students within learning environments including swimming and hydrotherapy in the College’s purpose-built pool and other therapy and/or leisure facilities and on residential courses.
• Maintaining records using Data bridge and other college information and recording systems.
• Contribute to planning and review processes.
• Liaising with families, carers and others as necessary and with regard for the confidentiality required by the college and the Together Trust.
