Job summary

Spire Claremont Hospital in Sheffield is recruiting a Theatre Assistant to join the bank team. You will assist the multidisciplinary operating team by offering a timely portering service, escorting patients, transporting equipment, records, meals, specimens and linen, and moving furniture.

This ad-hoc bank position offers a competitive rate; bank colleagues are paid weekly and there is a clear path for training updates and progression.

Qualifications

  • Experience of acting under instruction.
  • Working as part of a team.
  • Customer facing experience.
  • Experience of working as a porter or another caring role in a clinical environment.
  • Mandatory training including infection control and health and safety competencies.
  • Possess Equipment and Medical Devices Competences.
  • English language to IELTS 7.0.

Theatre Assistant/Spire Claremont/Sheffield/Bank/Ad-Hoc Shifts/Competitive Rate

Spire Claremont Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Theatre Assistant to join the bank team.

Duties and responsibilities

To assist the multi-disciplinary operating team to provide exemplary care by offering a timely portering service. The service will include escorting patients between ward, departments and theatre suite; Transporting equipment, medical records, meals, specimens and linen; Moving furniture.

  • Routine tasks related to patient's health and well being.
  • Production and communication of information and knowledge
  • Contribute to own personal development.
  • Assist in maintaining own and others' health and safety and security.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing services.
  • Ensure own actions help to maintain quality.
  • Ensure own actions support equality, diversity and rights.
  • Move patients, surgical equipment and goods.
  • Acknowledge the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand own responsibility as agreed with line manager in the prevention and control of HCAI.

  • Attaching additional equipment to operating tables and trolleys.
  • Safe use of role specific perioperative equipment.
