Job summary

The Avenues Trust Group is seeking Bank Support Workers to join our PBS service in Hildenborough, Tonbridge. This is a zero hours contract with flexible shifts and requires a full UK driving licence for transport to a rural location.

You will support five men with learning disabilities, autism and communication needs, using person-centred approaches to promote dignity, independence and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience with learning disabilities, autism and behaviours of concern.
  • Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
  • Calm, patient and emotionally resilient.
  • Able to build positive, trusting relationships.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support people to live independently while promoting choice, dignity and respect.
  • Provide person-centred support tailored to individual needs and aspirations.
  • Support daily living tasks, including cooking, shopping, managing finances and maintaining their home.
  • Provide personal care where required.
  • Use Positive Behaviour Support approaches to understand and respond to behaviours of concern.
  • Encourage community participation, hobbies, interests and meaningful relationships.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families and professionals to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Help people achieve personal goals and live the life they choose.

About the Role

We're looking for Bank Support Workers to join our specialist Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) service in Hildenborough, supporting five men with learning disabilities, autism, communication needs and behaviours of concern.

This is a rewarding but highly specialist role, where your experience, approach and values will have a direct impact on the lives of the people we support. For this role it is required to have some mode of transport e.g driving licence with access to a vehicle or motorbike as this service is in a very rural location.

You'll understand that behaviour is a form of communication and will be confident in using proactive, person-centred approaches that promote dignity, independence and positive outcomes. You'll know how important consistency is and recognise that the relationships you build can significantly improve a person's confidence, wellbeing and overall quality of life.

The people we support deserve the opportunity to live fulfilling lives, develop new skills, access their communities and make meaningful choices. As part of our team, you'll play a key role in making this happen every single day.

What You'll Be Doing
